Nujabes- Metaphorical Music

   Nujabes, recently deceased, is probably best known for his work on the Samurai Champloo soundtracks. Well if you liked that you will most likely love his actual albums. Japanese hip hop beats under lots of his friends providing vocals and lyrical content. The whole album is definitely danceable while maintaining that sweet smooth jazz hip hop sound. I heard he used some samples of Miles Davis songs for this album. Each song has a certain charm to it, and on last.fm it climbed it's way into my top 10 most listened to albums in a mere two months. If you are (and even if you aren't) a fan of hip hop, please check this out and I guarantee you won't be let down. For fans of Guru, Mos Def, Fat Jon, Tsutchie, etc. etc.

    heard their music, but the only track i actually liked was the opening theme for smaurai champloo.

    i guess im not much into hip hop.

    That's incredibly sad that he has passed on. His music was one of the few things I enjoyed about Samurai Champloo (the English translations and overall story were just awful). RIP Nujabes
